Two men were injured by gunshots early Saturday in the Hospital Ground area and treated for their wounds at Schneider Regional Medical Center, the V.I. Police Department reported.
At 4 a.m. Saturday, officers were called to the hospital to interview the two men being treated there. The first victim was a 26-year-old man who indicated that he, along with second victim, a 28-year-old man, were traveling home in the first man’s car. As they approached the Hospital Ground Fish Market, gun shots erupted and they both took cover in the attempt to avoid getting shot.
the first victim told police he felt a burning sensation to his head and realized he had been injured by the shots. the second victim said he felt a burning sensation in his left arm.
The pair then made their way to Schneider for treatment of the wounds they’d sustained.
The men had not seen who shot at them and were unable to provide officers with a description of a suspect.
