HOPE Inc. No Longer Funded to Provide HIV Services

HOPE Inc. (Helping Others in a Positive Environment) will no longer be funded by the Centers for Disease Control to provide HIV prevention services in the territory, the organization announced Thursday.

People in need of an HIV test can contact the Virgin Islands Department of Health, the organization said. Screening services for diabetes and hypertension will continue.

HOPE said in August it will launch its V.I. Health Awareness Initiative, featuring expertise, chronic disease prevention, treatment and social services for diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol and obesity.
