Police Charge Man with Unlicensed Firearm Possession

Michael “Rambo” Lewis of Water Bay was arrested Wednesday on St. Thomas and charged with three counts of possession of an unlicensed firearm, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to the police, officers on regular patrol in the area of Coki Point allegedly saw Lewis, 36, with a gun magazine in his back pocket. When officers approached him, Lewis fled from their presence, the police said. Officers found Lewis moments later in a nearby residence.

According to the police report, Lewis was advised of his Miranda Rights and then directed officers to three firearms within the premises.

Lewis, a known felon, was arrested and charged with three counts of possession of an unlicensed firearm, with his bail set at $100,000. Unable to post bail, Lewis was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advise of rights hearing.
