As the officers attempted to stop the vehicle in the vicinity of Barbel Plaza, the occupants of the stolen vehicle opened-fire, striking the police unit.
Other officers attempted to intercept the stolen vehicle as it traveled up Mafolie Road and again the occupants fired on them.
The suspects abandoned the vehicle in the area of Agnes Fancy and fled on foot.
