An unidentified man was shot in the Anna’s Retreat area and died at the Schneider Regional Medical Center, one of two shooting incidents that took place Sunday morning on St. Thomas.
It is the seventh homicide to take place on St. Thomas this year, the 10th in the territory.
According to the V.I. Police Department, the fatal shooting took place after 9 a.m. The victim was shot approximately five times and later died of his injures at the SRMC.
The victim had no identification, and as of Sunday night no next of kin had come forward to identify or claim the body.
The second shooting took place in the Brookman Road area. Arnold Joseph, 21 of Bovoni, was shot once Sunday morning in the area of Brookman Road as he walked towards his residence.
Joseph was shot once in the left thigh, treated and released from the hospital.
