Frenchtown Fisherman David Turbe Dies at 49

David Turbe, 49, an avid fisherman who lived on St. Thomas, died Jan. 18.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lola Turbe; father, Anthony Turbe; sister, Patsy Gagliani-Zaidi; and brother, Walter Galgliani.
He is survived by his sisters: Lucy Turbe-Serge, Priscilla Russell-Willis and Edna Gagliani-Caceres; brothers: Steve Turbe, Kenny Turbe, Jeffrey Turbe, Benny Gagliani and Tony Gagliani; and nieces: Brandy Serge, Amelia Turbe-Choriw, Michelle Gagliani, Sheila Gagliani-Rosario, Loraine Gagliani-Colon, Claudia Caceres, Gina Caceres-Al Samman, Ashley Zaidi-Gott, Courtney Zaidi-Allen and Crystal Gagliani-Johnson.
He is also survived by nephews: Alvin Turbe, Tory Serge, Scott Turbe, Adam Turbe, Peter Turbe, Jonathan Turbe, Joseph Turbe, Erick Russell, Sean Russell, Christopher Gagliani, Sean Gagliani, Vinny Gagliani, Kenny Rubino, Mark Rubino Sr., Salvatore Rubino Jr., Anthony Gagliani Jr., Jeffrey Gagliani and Stephen Gagliani; aunts: Jeannie O’Neill, Cecile Quetel and Marie Danet; uncles: Great Uncle Henry Quetel, Reynaldo Turbe, Leonard Turbe and Joseph Turbe; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, and other relatives and family members too numerous to mention.
A celebration of his life is planned for 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14, which would have been his 50th birthday, at the Frenchtown Community Center. Everyone is asked to wear festive colors.
The family plans to scatter David’s ashes to the ocean at noon on Sunday. Boats will leave the bayside before noon.
