Crime Stoppers: Be Aware at All Times

Crime Stoppers empowers you to make your neighborhoods safer by reporting information anonymously. Visit www.CrimeStoppersUSVI.org and click on How It Works. If you know something, say something, as your information, no matter how small, might be just what law enforcement needs to solve a crime.

St. Thomas: On Aug. 19 around 4 a.m. a 32-year-old male was stabbed in the stomach and arm while walking in the area of Kronprindsens Gade near Club 75. He doesn’t know who stabbed him. V.I. Police need your help. If you know something, please say something.

St. John: On Aug. 29 about 7:45 p.m. officers were dispatched to Estate Adrian regarding a third degree burglary. The complainant left his home secured around 11:30 a.m. and returned around 7:30 pm. The suspect entered and exited the residence through the southeast window. Items taken included $1,500 in cash; a $300 gold Gucci hand chain; and a pair of $400 gold Dora earrings.

Police remind residents that criminals are always waiting for the opportunity to commit crimes. Don’t give them that opportunity! When fueling your vehicle, roll up the windows and lock the doors before going inside the business to pay. Never leave your keys in the ignition or your car running while you step away "just for a minute" because a minute is all a criminal needs to steal your vehicle.

Be aware of your surroundings at all times. If you see any suspicious activity, anywhere at any time, call 911 and let police determine if there is any threat to the public.

Let’s continue to help make our community a safer place to live by submitting information on these or any other crimes. Your tips are completely anonymous and the stateside operators speak several languages. If your tip leads to an arrest or the recovery of stolen property, illegal drugs or weapons, you will receive a cash reward to be paid according to your instructions. The minimum reward for the arrest of a homicide suspect is $1,500. For an assault suspect, it is $900. For a fugitive, it is $347.
