Crime Stoppers: If You See Something, Say Something

Crime Stoppers pays. Make sure that crime doesn’t. If you know something, say something as law enforcement cannot control crime without the help of the law abiding community. Even the smallest bit of information may be just what law enforcement needs to solve these cases.

St. Croix: Police are asking for your help regarding the shooting death of 34-year-old Vernon E. James Jr. on March 12. This shooting occurred in a residential area of Estate Richmond about 1:30 p.m. in the vicinity of the old Ralph de Chabert housing community. If you saw anyone or any vehicle leaving the area very quickly, you may have seen the person(s) responsible for James’ death. Please call Crime Stoppers and tell them what you know. Let’s find the individual(s) who were involved in this senseless act.

St. John: On March 14 police responded to a burglary at 16A – 32 REM Mandahl, in the area of Salt Pond in Coral Bay. The burglary occurred between 9 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. the same day. Items stolen were a Mac Air laptop, a Nexus 5 Android cell phone and an iPod. Please help police solve this crime by telling us what you know.

St. Thomas: On March 15 at 9:50 a.m., seven armed, masked men robbed Imperial Jewelers on Main Street. Thanks to community’s help police were able to capture six of the seven in the Fireburn Hill area but one suspect escaped. Help police identify and arrest the remaining robber.

Let’s continue to work for the good of all by telling what you know about these or any other crimes at www.CrimeStoppersUSVI.org or by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). You can also text “USVI” plus your message to CRIMES (274637).

If your tip leads to an arrest or the recovery of stolen property, illegal drugs or weapons, you will receive a cash reward to be paid according to your instructions. The minimum reward for the arrest of a murder suspect is $1,500. For an armed robber it is $900. For a burglar it is $714 plus 10 percent of the retail value of any stolen property recovered.
