Man Killed in Williams Delight

One man was killed and another injured during a shooting at about 6:48 p.m. Tuesday, according to the V.I. Police Department.

Police identified the dead man as 19-year-old Antonio Ilaraza. The second victim is a 26-year-old male who was shot in his upper body and left leg. The police department does not identify nonfatal victims.

Ilraza’s death was the third homiocide in the territory since the start of the year, the second on St. Croix.

Officers arriving on the scene saw the victim lying in the street with several people gathered around him. Police contacted the second victim at his home, which is located nearby.

Both victims were taken to the Juan F. Luis Memorial Hospital by ambulance, where Ilraza was pronounced dead.

Police are urging anyone who knows anything about the shooting to call detectives at 1-340-712-6077 or 1-340-712-6037. Those with information also can call the 911 emergency call center or the anonymous tip service Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-8477.
