St. Thomas Historical Trust Announces Upcoming Events

The St. Thomas Historical Society had scheduled the following events and activities for 2014.
Jan. 31, 6-8 p.m. — Cocktails and lecture will benefit the Trust’s work at Fort Christian at YHG, at the Shansi Miller Art Exhibition. The cost is $50 per person; call 774-5541 to reserve.
Jan. 26 to Feb. 1 — Shansi Miller Art Exhibition will benefit the Trust’s work at Fort Christian at YHG daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free.
Jan. 20 to Feb. 1 — Trust members volunteer on an archaeological dig on Main Street. Call 774-5541 to volunteer.
End of January, the Trust leads Virgin Islands 4th graders from Gladys Abraham, E. Benjamin Oliver and Joseph Gomez schools on their first visit through Fort Christian.
Mid-March — Chair caning workshops will be held from 8 a.m. to noon. There will be 10 sessions at the Trust. $100 per person.
May 24 — Coal Pot cook-off will be held at Fort Christian.
Hassel Island Tours daily through April. Call at least 24 hours in advance to reserve. $40 per person.
Historic Downtown Walking tours begin at 9 a.m. on Mondays and Thursdays. Meet at the Trust. $25 per person
The Trust Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday through Thursday or by appointment. Call 774-5541. Donations are appreciated.
