Italis Cornelius died on Dec. 5 in Atlanta, Georgia. She was 71 years old.
She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Cornelius.
She is survived by her husband, Elton Cornelius; children: Donna Benjamin, Colonel Anthony Nesbitt and Roger Cornelius; sister, Angela Adams; brothers: Tyrone and Armal Sterling; grandchildren: Sadique Jones, Jamiel and Dwayne Benjamin Jr., Shakela, Makela and Kiana Cornelius, and Antonio Nesbitt; great-grandchildren: Jakye Benjamin, Joseph Cornelius and Shakira Jones; and other relatives and friends too numerous to mention
There will be a viewing from 2-4 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 19, at James Memorial Funeral Home. There will be a second viewing held at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, at Grace Baptist Church Central, No. 8C Mt. Pleasant, Frederiksted. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
