Police on St. Thomas are investigating a first-degree robbery Friday in Savan in which a woman was robbed of her purse in her home.

According to the V.I. Police Department, the woman was entering her home at about 3 p.m. Friday when she felt a hard object being pressed into her back. A male voice told her to give him her handbag, which she did.

The suspect fled the area on foot in an unknown direction.

The victim said her handbag contained personal papers and $300 in cash. She could not identify the suspect.
