Magens Bay Authority Chairman Robert Morõn spoke to the Senate Finance Committee about the authority’s budget and plans for the year.

Magens Bay Authority is responsible for the overall management of Magens Bay Park, Drake’s Seat and Smith Bay Park. Smith Bay Park’s budget request is $235,000, with $110,000 for salaries, $53,000 for employer benefit contributions and $75,000 for police security taking up the largest portion of the budget.

No votes were taken at the information gathering hearing. Committee members present included Sens. Clifford Graham, Myron Jackson, Terrence “Positive” Nelson, and Nereida “Nellie” Rivera-O’Reilly.
