Gunshot Damages Car in Stony Ground

Police on St. Croix are investigating a case of reckless endangerment that occurred Monday in Estate Stony Ground in Frederiksted.

According to the V.I. Police Department, a resident of the area woke up Monday to find the sunroof of his vehicle had been shattered by a gunshot. Police were dispatched to the scene about 7:45 a.m.

The car’s owner showed police the damages to his vehicle. Police inspected the shattered sun roof and recovered one bullet shell casing from the immediate area.

The victim said he does not recall hearing any gunshots during the night and he doesn’t know anyone who would want to destroy his property.

Police gathered all evidence and turned the case over to the Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives.
