Single Shot Injures Man

A 19-year-old St. Thomas man was injured early Friday morning when he was struck by a single gunshot, the V.I. Police Department reported.

Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives are investigating the non-fatal shooting, which occurred in Estate Contant. The victim, who was shot in his leg, drove himself to the Schneider Regional Medical Center and police were dispatched to meet him there.

The victim told police he got home at about 3 a.m. Friday and rested in a chair. He heard several shots and felt pain in his leg. He said he glimpsed a person firing shots at him from outside his home but could not give any description of the person or any additional information.

The victim was treated for a single gunshot wound that injured his left and right thighs.
