Steadwin A. Frett Sr. Dies at 78

Steadwin A. Frett Sr. died on Sept. 8, at Schneider Regional Medical Center. He was 78 years old.
He is survived by his children: Doris Fleming, Roger Fleming, Lilly Chalwell, Arthur Frett, James Frett, and Steadwin Frett Jr.; sisters: Elice Stewart, Renelda Francis, Rehena Estrada, Carol Frett-Rabsatt, Adelita Penn; Alden Frett and Beryl Frett; brothers: Louis Frett and Elridge Frett; daughters-in-law: Tina Frett and Pamela Frett; and grandchildren: Cecil Punter, Cecily Leonard, Kyla Frett, Naiquan Frett, Rashima Joseph, Roger Fleming Jr, Renisha Fleming, Ro-Sean Fleming, Rasheed Fleming, Kayla Holmes and Naiem Frett.
He is also survived by great- grandchildren: Caiya Leonard, Arianna Punter, Cecil Punter III, Jesse Jackson, Reinye Fleming, Marissa Fleming, Re’Khai Fleming, Larien Joseph, Lariek Joseph, Larry Joseph Jr., Nya Krigger, Tyrell Brady, Tinesha Smith, Kezia Fessale, Janelle Jacobs and De’Andre Simon; sisters-in-law: Icilda Thomas, Esther Smith, Ruth J. Frett, Cindy Jurgen and Jestina Lafond; brothers-in-law: Mario A. Francis, Ezekiel Stewart and Caris Penn; and nieces: Tachelle Newton, Shirley Scatliffe, Susie Scatliffe, Susie Scatliffe, Sonia Petersen, Judith Fahie, Jennaire Rabsatt, Kishma Frett, Marilyn Frett, Uedico Scatliffe, Laverne Hattcher, Shirlene Frett, Notice Duran, Kathleen Beasly and Golda Hermon.
Other survivors include nephews: Elroy Schulterbrandt, Patrick Newton, Stanley Frett, Steve Frett, Danley Cornelius, Julien Scatliffe, Clarence Rhymer, Dale Frett, Claudious Frett, Eddie Thomas, Leroy Davis, Kelly Frett, Jewel Frett, Milton Frett and Carle A. Birch; pallbearers: James Frett, Arthur Frett, Steadwin Frett Jr., Mario A. Francis, Roger Frett Jr. and Franklin Smith; honorary pallbearers: Patrick Newton and Ezekiel Stewart; special friends: Louvena Penn, Delita DeLagarde, Adda, Elva Brewley, Mr. Dowell, Emiliana Rayes and Barbara Cazaboune; special goddaughter, Beverly Hendricks; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing held at 9 a.m. and a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept.14, at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cruz Bay, St. John. Interment will follow at Cruz Bay Cemetery.
