Police Investigate Saturday Robbery

Police on St Croix are investigating a robbery that took place Saturday at Sunny Isles.

According to the V.I. Police Department, a woman told officers she was robbed after leaving the ATM at the Sunny Islands First Bank branch. The 47-year-old victim told police she had just withdrawn money from the ATM and got into her car when an unknown man approached her.

The suspect told her to give him all her money which she did, the police said. The suspect then fled from the scene in an unknown direction.

The victim said she was frightened, so she drove to her home in Lorraine Village apartments before contacting law enforcement.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau are following up on the case.
