One man was shot at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday in Estate Williams Delight in a case police are calling reckless endangerment.
Officers responding to a report of shots fired in the area intercepted a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on the Melvin Evans Highway and stopped it. Police saw the victim in the passenger seat and escorted the vehicle to the hospital.
The victim said he had been sitting in a truck when he heard several gunshots. He felt a burning sensation in his buttocks and realized he had been hit. He said he told a family member who took him to the hospital.
The victim, who is 23 year old, refused to answer any additional questions from officers.
The case will be followed up by the Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives.
