Police Capture Suspect Immediately after Robbery

A man was robbed while getting gas at Mountain Gas station on St. Croix, but officers on a proactive patrol quickly captured the suspect, according to the V.I. Police Department.

The victim told police the incident occurred about 8 p.m. Monday. He was getting gas when he saw another vehicle reverse and collide into his car. The driver got out of the car and demanded that the victim pay for the damages to his car. When the victim argued that the other driver had caused the collision, the suspect snatched a gold chain off the victim’s neck and told him that he would get it back after he fixed his vehicle.

The suspect also took $150 from inside the victim’s vehicle, police were told.

Witnesses in the area called 911 and gave police a description of the suspect. Several police units were in the area and immediately apprehended the suspect, who was identified as 31-year-old Nathan McIntosh. He was charged with second-degree robbery, and bail was set at $75,000. McIntosh was remanded to the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility.
