Bernard O. Lake Dies at 79

We announce the passing of Bernard O. Lake, also known as “Ben or “Brother B,” who died on July 18 at Schneider Regional Medical Center. He was 79 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Una Lake; sons: Dr. Angel Lake and Elvin Lake; daughters: Patricia Lake-Blyden, Sharon Lake-Peets, Barbara Lake-Stewart, Bernadette Lake and Shelia Lake (deceased); grandchildren: Bernadette Gumbs, Gerry Schmidt Jr., Javarrah and Jakobi Peets, Jared and Jordan Lake, Nylah Blyden and Jaheel Lake; great-grandchildren: Shakimo and Shurandy Martinus and Zachai Schmidt; sisters: Annette Lake, Lydia Ross, Maria Chesterfield and Harriet Simmonds; brothers: John Simmonds and Felix Lake Sr. (deceased); sons-in-law: Glenn Blyden, Clifford Peets and Rohan Stewart; daughter-in-law, Denise Muller Lake; mother-in-law, Miriam Christopher of Tortola, BVI; brothers-in-law: Wilmoth Christopher and Elroy John; aunt: Odelie Lake of St. Marten; and other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A first viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at Davis Funeral Home Chapel. A second viewing will take place at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7, at Faith Christian Fellowship Alive in Christ. Interment will be at Eastern Cemetery, Smith Bay.
