Detectives from the Major Crime Bureau are investigating an early Tuesday homicide in Estate Fredenhoj, attempting to determine the identity of the victim.
It was the 14th homicide in the territory since the beginning of the year, the eighth on St. Thomas.
According to the V.I. Police Department, officers were notified of the shooting about 1 a.m. When they arrived on the scene, offices saw the unresponsive victim face down on a road in Estate Fredenhoj.
Emergency medical technicians who attempted to assist the victim said they could not detect any vital signs.
The victim was carrying no identification. According to police, he was wearing a multicolored polo shirt, black pants and black sneakers. He is about 5 feet, 8 inches tall; weighs between 175 and 180 pounds; and has a low haircut, brown eyes and no facial hair.
