Innovative Announces Availability of Scholarship Applications

Innovative has announced that scholarship applications for the 2013 Albert A. Sheen Scholarships and Innovative Telephone/UVI Scholarships are available at various locations throughout the territory.
Albert A. Sheen Scholarships are awarded to two Virgin Islands high school seniors who have already been accepted to a college or university to pursue a degree in one of the following disciplines: accounting, business administration, business management, engineering or related fields. The scholarship is named in honor of the late attorney, Albert A. Sheen, who served as the legal counsel for the Virgin Islands Telephone Corporation, which is now referred to as Innovative Telephone. Each student is awarded a one-time $10,000 scholarship to be used for tuition only.
Innovative Telephone/UVI Scholarships are awarded to six V.I. students who have already been accepted to the University of the Virgin Islands. Each student is awarded a $2,000 scholarship to be used for tuition, books and materials at UVI.
Applications are available at the security desks at the Innovative Business Offices in Estate Diamond on St. Croix, Tutu Park on St. Thomas and Starfish Marketplace on St. John. They are also available from guidance counselors at all V.I. high schools. Further, students can obtain applications by downloading the requisite forms from Innovative’s Web site: www.innovativevi.net or by requesting applications from innovativescholarships@innovativevi.net.
All completed applications are due on Friday, May 10. Full instructions on the submittal process are included in the application packet.
