Violet Evans Dies in Maryland

Violet Evans Violet Evans died on Feb. 12 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was 91 years old.
She is survived by her children: Yvonne, Edris, Rosalie, Stanley, Otney (Yento), John (John Pen), Barbara and Rohan (Ibo); grandchildren: Sandra, Patsy, Karen, Heather, Velma, Lester, Averil, James, Denise, Jermaine, Avonlle, Alexis, Otney Jr., Jecholiah, Jamarley, Rohan, Roneisia, Roshawn and Arianna; great-grandchildren: Tressetta, Shomari, Leander, Omari, Keith, Nichelle, Jerian, Julean, Quentin, Jazmin, Javon, Daisha, Deandra, Elijah Jayonah, Leona, Leo Jr., Deanna, Deonte, Otney III, Kaiya, Velma, Coreen and Dorian; great-great grandchildren: Josiah, Estrella, Zayden, McKenzie and Ka’Jen; siblings: Georgina, Vergie, Blanche, Govan and Alfred; and nieces and nephews: Irma, Desmond, Terrance, Sonia, Vincent, Diane, Jackie, Ieisha, Natasha, Denton, Junie, Tony, St. Claire, Alphonso, Precious, Irmyn, Sheila, Valarie, Margaret, Calvin, Lowell, Rupert, Oreliah, Vernon, Lorraine, Morris, Lowell, Lunsford, Terrance and Leroy.
She is also survived by extended family: Albert Roach, Gloria Rose, Gloria Evans, Peter Henry, Maurice Ingram, Jamie Rose, Eustace Hull, Viceroy Grey, Inita Evans, Stan Wilmington, Tommy, Willie Isaac, Conrad(brother); close friends: Daughters of the King, Chucky Hansen, the Goldens, Ms. Herbert, Ms. Sealey, Ms. Mills, Ms. Evelyn, Ernie Liburd, Tony Liburd, Leona Smith and family, Florentine Payne and family, Jane Lee (Lady Bug), Jacquette Carter (Gina), Maude Roberts, the Adigun’s, Sandy Cartier and family, Ingrid Pemberton, Ismay Pemberton, Desmond Frederick, Charles Nibbs, Rita and Anina, Lewis Nation, Ms. Mary, Adibow Serrano, Cherene Williams-Walters, Chaha, Beso, Ursula and family, Dragon and family, Lola Graham, Lolo, Mike Harris, Gail, Ms. Barton, Olivia Grey, Larry Tyson and family, Lareine Gumbs, Amanda Britton; physicians: Dr. Alabrash (Doc), Dr. Dowling, Dr. Fuelner, Dr. Haque and Dr. Sivasalem; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A viewing will take place at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, at St. John’s Anglican Church. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
