The New Vibes and the Togetherness Record Big Wins

The New Vibes moved closer to wrapping up the second place spot in the St. Thomas Region when they defeated the HT Victory 4-1 in the early Thursday night action at the Lionel Roberts Stadium. The New Vibes’ Marlon Wilton opened the scoring in the 12th minute, but the HT Victory’s Jean Yves Joudy scored the equalizer eight minutes later. The Vibes’ Brian Charlery scored in the 31st minute to give them a 2-1 lead at the half. Nine minutes into the second half, Charlery again scored to increase the New Vibes’ lead to 3-1. The New Vibes final goal was scored with 20 minutes left in the game by Ozzie Espinoza. The New Vibes Vernus Abbott missed a penalty late in the game.
In the late encounter, the Togetherness scored three goals in each half to record a 6-0 victory over the Laraza. The Togetherness’ Eldondane Francis scored in both the 9th and the 38th minute while Rigoberto Mega scored in the 30th minute for the comfortable half time lead. In the second half, Justin Prince scored in the 59th minute and Shanley Jno Charles scored in both the 62nd and the 85th minute as the Togetherness cruised to the victory.
Action will resume at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10, at the Lionel Roberts Stadium when the HT Victory face the Togetherness followed by the ‘battle’ of the Vibes when the New Vibes play their arch rivals, the Positive Vibes.
