Man Suffers Gunshot Wound to Foot

A man on St. Thomas was treated at Schneider Regional Medical Center for a gunshot wound to the heel of his left foot after a Saturday incident at Oswald Harris Court public housing community, according to a Police Department press release issued Monday.

The victim told police he heard several shots but he did not know who was shooting or why anyone would want to shoot at him. He said he was coming out of his vehicle about 7:15 p.m. when he heard several shots being fired and then realized he was shot. The victim refused to give police any additional information.

St. Thomas/St. John/Water Island Chief of Police Darren Foy urged residents to call police with information on this and any other crime happening in their neighborhoods. Call detectives on St. Thomas at 714-9834 or 715-5522, or Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-8477.
