V.I. Housing Finance Authority Presents 2012 Housing Expo

The Virgin Islands Housing Finance Authority (VIHFA) invites the public to attend the "2012 Housing Expo" on Saturday, June 30, on St. Thomas at the Mark C. Marin Center. It will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Housing Expo will make information available to home owners and potential home owners. Exhibitors include banks/mortgage lenders, hardware and building suppliers, contractors, developers, real estate agents, home owner insurance companies, landscapers, and solar and green product vendors. These exhibitors will be on hand to provide information and answer questions about becoming a homeowner and will offer products and services to help residents maintain an excellent home.
Housing Expo attendees will be able to attend informational sessions throughout the event. Workshops will include Refinancing, Foreclosure Prevention, Financial Education, as well as Budgeting and Credit Tips.

This event, sponsored in conjunction with Banco Popular, will also feature a mid-day keynote speaker, Meade W. Malone, author and financial planner. He will speak on "Managing During Difficult Times," and provide strategies as to how to stay focused and disciplined during tough economic times.
Representatives from HUD, Rural Development and Delegate Donna M. Christensen’s Office will provide a foreclosure prevention workshop and will be on hand to answer questions pertaining to home products and services.
Attendees are urged to come prepared to stay for the entire event. There will be a variety of door prizes raffled every hour on the hour and one lucky resident from each district will win an exterior home makeover to include minor cosmetics, landscaping, scrape and paint. To participate in the home makeover contest, residents must complete their entry no later than June 29 on St. Thomas, by downloading and completing the form at www.vihfa.gov or stopping by their local VIHFA office.
