Joseph Saddler better known as "Dada" died on June 3 at the age of 96 at the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital on St. Thomas. He was born on the island of Nevis on Aug. 15, 1915. He lived on St. Thomas where he worked up to his retirement as a laborer for the Virgin Islands Government Department of Public Works.
He is survived by his sons: Winston Saddler Sr., Lindley Protiflet and Ashley Saddler. He is preceded in death by son, Wilburn "Sadie" Saddler. He is also survived by daughters: Alicia and Juanita Saddler, Janet Smith and Patricia Grant; nieces: Christine Saddler, Anita Margarita and Lorna Saddler; nephew, Henry "Castro" Saddler; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
A first viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m. at the John Thomas Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, June 13. A second viewing will be held from 9-10 a.m. on June 14 at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church. Burial will be in the Western Cemetery No. 2
