Volunteers at CASA are court appointed special advocates. The local program has been on St Croix since 1993. It gives children an advocate to speak up on their behalf in court and in the foster care system.
Homework Helpersis a program for helping students who require remedial academic assistance, including tutoring. Many children who come into the foster care system are very bright and have great potential but they’ve fallen behind as a result of the conditions that led to abuse or neglect in their life. We also try to incorporate life skills into our program when funding is available for an in house program.
