Graduation Information Announced for Central High School Seniors

Parents and guardians of graduating St. Croix Central High School students should take are informed of the plans for commencement exercises and other information pertinent to graduation, according to a press release issued Monday by Janasee Sinclair, principal of St. Croix High School.
Thursday, May 31
Class Nightat the Ronald Charles Sports Arena at 6:30 p.m. The night will be dedicated to the parents and guardians of the Class of 2012. Attire for the evening is semi-formal with pastel colors.
Monday, June 4 and Tuesday 5
Final exams.
Graduation Practices are planned in the school’s gymnasium on Wednesday, June 6, (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.); Friday, June 8 (noon – 3 p.m.) and Monday, June 11 (9 a.m. – noon). Attendance at all scheduled practices is required. Students who miss graduation practices risk losing their spot in the graduation ceremonies. Students are to wear their school uniform or the senior polo-shirt and school skirt and pants. No slippers are allowed.
Wednesday, June 6
Graduation program informationwill be submitted to the printer. Any scholarship awards and all other requirements should be submitted to the counselor prior to this date in order to be included. The administration will not be responsible for inclusion of any information that was not submitted.
Thursday, June 7
CHS Class of 2012 Prom, a formal affair,begins at 7 p.m. at DIVI Carina Bay Resort. Colors for the evening are red, gold and black.
Sunday, June 10
Baccalaureate Service will be held at the Original Pentecostal Church at 3 p.m. Students are expected to dress appropriately in their caps (without the tassel) and gowns. The young ladies must be dressed in black skirt and white blouse, black shoes, and stockings. The young men must be dressed in white shirt, black tie, black pants (no jeans), and black shoes (no sneakers, no slippers, no boots).
Monday, June 11
St. Croix Career & Technical Education Center (CTEC) Certification Ceremonybegins at 6 p.m. at the Educational Complex auditorium for all concerned CHS students.
Tuesday, June 12
Graduation Exercises will take place at Ronald Charles Sports Arena beginning at 2 p.m. The Sports Arena will open at 1:30 p.m. to accommodate seating. Admission is by ticket only. Parking is limited. Each graduate will receive four (4) admission tickets. Students are expected to dress appropriately in caps (with tassels) and gowns. The young ladies must be dressed in black skirt and white blouse, black shoes, and stockings. The young men must be dressed in white shirt, black tie, black pants (no jeans), and black shoes (no sneakers, no slippers, no boots).
Wednesday, June 13 (10 a.m. – 3 p.m.)
Diplomaandreport cards may be picked up from 10 a.m.to 3 p.m.
Principal Sinclair reminds parents and guardians that the following requirements must be met by the senior student to participate in graduation ceremonies:
1. An overall Grade Point Average (G.P.A.) of 2.0 or above.
2. Complete one hundred hours (100) of community service.
3. Submit portfolio to senior counselor.
4. Clear all accounts and pay balances by May 28, including graduation and lost text books fees.
5. Must have updated Immunization records.
6. Verify with school registrar the correct spelling of name for his or her diploma.
7. Complete Exit Form and submit to senior counselor.
8. Return text books/library books/videos during final exams.
9. Submit all acceptance and financial aid award letters to senior counselor.
10. Meet with Counselor Tyler to register for the NCAA and NAIA Clearinghouse if senior is an athlete who plans to play college sports.
The St. Croix Central High School principal added that transcript requests submitted to the school’s registrar will be mailed directly to the colleges or universities indicated. Two transcripts are free of charge. A minimal fee of $2 will be charged for additional copies.
