Pizza Hut Robbed at Gunpoint

A gun-wielding robber fired a single gunshot inside the Wheatley Center Pizza Hut Restaurant on Wednesday before taking an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, police said in a statement Friday.

Luckily, no one was injured during the robbery.

According to the police report, officers were dispatched to the scene at about 9:30 p.m. One employee told police she heard a single gunshot and saw a man inside the restaurant with a grey t-shirt over his face holding a silver colored handgun. The suspect took her over to the cash register and demanded that she open it, which she did. The employee was also asked to open the safe, but told the suspects she did not have the key.

The suspects then left the restaurant with an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. The employee was not able to describe the second suspect.

Police and forensic technicians conducted an investigation at the scene. The case has been turned over to the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
