Charles C. Benjamin Dies

Charles C. Benjamin, better known as "Leo” or “Shortie," died on March 24.
He is survived by his sons: Laker Benjamin, (now deceased) Vere Benjamin; daughters: Vernita Matthew, Cordella Miller and Denise Benjamin; stepsons: Rupert Ralph and Glenroy Benjamin; grandchildren: Adeola, Masika, Ayisha, O’bena, Haile, Massiatt, Vakiya, Zaire, Monifa, Binghi, Sharifa, Shaquille, Azikiwee, Asimba, Keneliah, Everton, Billy, Laura, Esther, Lakera, Vere Junior, Keisha, Deneisha Brazzle, Charizma Griffith and Konasha Griffith; 16 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Dennis Vigo; sisters-in-law: Christophine Phillip and Celes Augutus; daughters-in-law, Rosemarie Ralph; other relatives: Reginald Swift, Leopold Williams, George James and Dalton Benjamin; special friends: Garnet and Ineta Brown, Kenneth and Dolly Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Donovan, Hyacinth Freeman and the Daniel family, Mr. and Mrs. Huggins and family, Lynn Peters and family, Ms. Sarah Bran, Wendy Richards, Cynthia Edwards, Isilma Edwards, Lucinda Barton, Tini Francis and Vanessa Williams; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing held at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 13, at St. Andrew’s Church. Interment will be at Eastern Cemetery, Smith Bay.
Funeral arrangements are by Turnbull’s Funeral Home.
