Juanita R. Weston, 28, was arrested on third-degree assault charges after she allegedly assaulted a 33-year-old woman at 10:30 a.m. Sunday with an iron pipe. The incident happened at Jarrah Mini Mart in Sugar Estate, a Police Department press release indicated.
The police report stated that two females exchanged words inside the convenience store. When the 33-year-old victim went outside to the gas pumps, she saw the suspect taking a metal pipe out of her trunk.
The victim told police that she then went to her vehicle and got a knife, but someone took the knife from her. At that time, the suspect began hitting her on her head with the metal pipe and also bit the victim on the fingers of her right hand.
When police arrived at the scene, the victim and Weston were still present.
Weston was held on $25,000 bail. She was remanded to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.
