Senate President Postpones Constitution Convention Meeting

The meeting previously scheduled for March 9, in the Legislative Annex on St. John has been postponed until further notice, according to a press release issued Monday by the Office of Sen. Ronald E. Russell, President. The Senate president has conferred with the chairs of the Health and Hospital Committee and the Government Operations, Energy and Veterans’ Affairs Committee to accommodate an emergency hospital committee meeting on St. Croix to address the status of the hospital in light of the 86 firings.
Senator Russell said, “The urgency of the quality of health care which may have been affected by the dismissals requires an immediate meeting with all members of the hospital board and the administrative staff.”
The meetings addressing the Constitution Revision Convention will continue as scheduled on the islands of St. Thomas and St. Croix. The meeting on St. Thomas will take place at 4 p.m. on March 12 and at 4 p.m. on March 13 on St. Croix.
