St. Thomas police are investigating a shooting incident that left two men dead over the weekend.
According to a Police Department news release, VIPD’s Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives, along with agents from the Intelligence Unit and patrol officers, responded to a call of shots being fired in the Sugar Estate area at approximately 2:30 a.m. Saturday. When they arrived on the scene, officers found the bodies of two gunshot victims lying motionless on the street, the release said.
The victims have been identified as Jadahl Bastien and Glen Blyden, who are both 19-years-old. Another 19-year-old bystander was also grazed by a bullet during the gunfire, and has been treated and released from the Schneider Regional Medical Center.
A preliminary investigation revealed that both Bastien and Blyden were shot multiple times. Police said they were both in possession of firearms, which have been confiscated, according to the release.
