St. John Woman Arrested for Allegedly Assaulting Police Officer

Amalia Belen, 54, was arrested on St. John just before 4 p.m. Friday after she allegedly assaulted a police officer. She was charged with third degree assault, simple assault and battery, and disturbance of the peace. Police Department spokesman Melody Rames said Saturday she had no further information on the incident.

Belen’s bail was set at $25,000, and she was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending her court proceedings.
