Saturated Patrol Officers Make Drug Arrests

Officers on Saturated Patrol on St. Croix arrested 27-year-old Arril Guirty, 26-year-old Hugh K. Evans, Jr., and 19-year-old Raheem Springer on Friday near the Mid West Grocery store in Estate Carlton on drug related charges.

According to police, officers working Saturated Patrol received information that drugs were being sold in Estate Carlton. When officers arrived on the scene, they observed a drug sale and marijuana in plain view. Guirty and Evans were charged with simple possession of a controlled substance and their bail was set at $1,000 each.

Springer was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. Officers said he had at least seven small clear plastic bags filled with marijuana in his possession. His bail was set at $10,000.

All of the suspects were unable to post bail, and were remanded to the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility pending further court action.
