Suspect Arrested in Eudora Kean Shootout

St. Thomas police have arrested 21 year old Alex A. Harris and charged him with firing shots on the Ivanna Eudora Kean High School campus on Jan. 28.

Harris was arrested Saturday afternoon after being positively identified as one of the individuals involved in a shootout in the campus parking lot. He was charged with reckless endangerment first degree and possession of an unlicensed firearm. His bail was set at $100,000.

Police said the incident took place near the basketball gym during a tournament at the school. And while no one was injured, more than 100 students and spectators were in the area at the time.

At least three parked cars in the area were damaged by gunfire, according to a Police Department news release.

This case remains open and police are seeking additional suspects. Anyone with any information about this shooting is asked to call detectives at 715-5534, 715-5545 or Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-TIPS.
