Lions Club Donates Office Equipment to Bowsky Elementary

The St. Thomas East End Lions recently fulfilled a wish list item at their adopted Yvonne M. Bowsky School. The main office was in need of a printer/fax/copier/scanner, and when President Vernelle S. de Lagarde heard of the need, she quickly gathered the East End Lions in support of the school. The club has an Education Committee co-chaired by Lion Mauritzer Gumbs and Lion Ruby Todman-George, who seek to assist the educational needs of schools in the East End Lions service area, and particularly of its adopted school. In the presentation to Assistant Principal Avery Evans, Vernelle de Lagarde said, "We know that education is a gift that cannot be taken away, and the St. Thomas East End Lions Club is here to do our part by gifting to Yvonne Bowsky School a brand new HP Office Jet." Principal Laura Chesterfield was not on hand but she was made aware of the generosity of the Lions Club.
