One Dead, One Injured in Paradise Mills Shooting

Police on St. Croix are investigating a shooting in the Paradise Mills apartments that occurred Monday, resulting in one man’s death and injury to another. This is the second homicide this year in the territory.

According to police, when officers responded to shots fired around 8 p.m., they noticed Manuel Alfonseca Jr. had been shot several times and was laying in the parking lot of Building 1 near a white Honda Accord; he later died of his injuries.

The second victim, a 23-years-old male, was shot in his left shoulder and on the right side of his back. Both victims were treated at the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center.
