Police on St. Croix arrested 55-year-old Lenore Althea Lawrence Wednesday for allegedly stabbing and cutting a woman with a pair of barber scissors near Market Square in Christiansted.
Police officers assigned to the Ancilmo Marshall Command in Christiansted arrested Lawrence at 10:30 p.m. after she allegedly stabbed a 24-year-old woman. The victim said Lawrence unexpectedly attacked her after she said “hello” to the suspect.
Lawrence allegedly stabbed the victim with a pair of barber scissors causing cuts on her face, cheek, index finger, and the left side of the victim’s abdomen. The victim was taken to the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital for treatment.
Lawrence was charged with third-degree assault, held on a $25,000 bail, and was remanded to the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility pending further court action.
