Police on St. Croix arrested 59-year-old William Scatliffe Tuesday, for allegedly assaulting his wife while they were at their home in Estate Williams Delight.
According to police, officers were dispatched to the Scatliffe’s home about 4:30 p.m. following a distress call from the victim, who stated she had been assaulted by her husband.
The victim said William Scatliffe slapped her and pulled and tore her clothes. When police arrived, they noticed the victim had visible scratches on her neck from the assault, but she declined medical assistance.
William Scatliffe was charged with aggravated assault and battery, domestic violence. He was held without bail, pending his advice of rights hearing.
