Robert Daniel Brooks Dies at 79

Robert Daniel Brooks of Anna’s Retreat died on Dec. 18 at this residence. He was 79 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Claudina “Clad” Marianne Brooks; sons: Vincent “Ashanti,” Faustin “Atam,” Jean “John” and Marcellin Brooks; daughters: Wenceslas “Wency” Smith, Oliva Brooks and Chantal Brooks; grandchildren: Nathalie Potter and Jose Camacho Jr., Kwame, Terique and Chanique Smith, Brandon, Jason and Darrah Hinton, Janea and Torian Brooks, Tianna, Amelia and Maliik Brooks, JahReese, JahPaul and JahVince; great grandchildren: Kemoi and Kaleena Potter, Taevon Hinton, Alexis Prentice, Terrique Jr. Tyrique, Taariq, Tyrece and Kalishia Smith; adopted grandson, Darius Smith.
He is also survived by sons-in-law: Winston Smith and Warren Penny; daughters-in-law: Monica Brooks, Gwendolyn Brooks, Lisa Babcock and Patricia Potter; sister, Josette “Jojo” Brooks Hamelet; sisters-in-law: Cervice Barrot, Armel, Elcia and Vutah Richardson, Valentine and Linda George; brothers-in-law: Henry and Luden “Tonton” George; special sister-in-law, Vaple “Joan” George; many nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
The first viewing will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 8, at Davis Funeral Home Chapel. The second viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, at Philadelphia Seventh-day Adventist Church. Interment will be in Eastern Cemetery.
