Tuesday Night’s Bob Owens Slow Pitch Softball Results

Set It Off, Softball Inc, and the Enforcers were Tuesday’s winners in the Bob Owen Slow Pitch Softball league at the D.C. Canegata Ball Park. Set It Off crushed Diageo 30-1, Softball Inc outlasted the Cartel 16-14, and the Enforcers were five better than the Lumber Jacks, 12-7.

Set It Off 30 Diageo 1

Set It Off got off on whatever the Diageo pitching was serving up as they erupted for 30 runs in five innings to pummel Diageo into submission by way of the ten-run mercy rule, 30-1. It was Set It Off with 30 runs on 12 hits, while Diageo finished with 1 run on two hits and eight errors. Angel Soto got the win on the hill for Set It Off, and Jimmy Salazar got the loss. Top batters for the winners were: Toni Peguero, 4 for 4 with two home runs and five RBIs; Orlando Benitez, 4 for 5 with a home run and six RBIs; and Juan Ramon Santiago, 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs. For Diageo, Lyndon Tyson was 1 for 2 with a home run, and Ethan Washburn was 1 for 2.

Softball Inc 16 Cartel 14

In game two on Tuesday, Softball Inc outlasted an improving Cartel squad 16-14 in a hard fought contest that went down to the wire. Softball Inc finished with 16 runs on 21 hits and two errors, while the Cartel had 14 runs on 14 hits and two errors. The winning pitcher was Gabriel Jagrup, and Ian Lewis got the loss. Top batters for the winners were: Antonio Cruz, 2 for 3 with two home runs and seven RBI, and Andre Ponche, Leandro Reyes, and Rudolf Simmonds, who were all 3 for 4. For the Cartel, Anthon Cannier was 3 for 4 with two home runs and six RBIs, and Darren Lewis was 2 for 3 with a home run and one RBI.

Enforcers 12 Lumber Jacks 7

Tuesday’s night cap was a match up of two of the league’s lower echelon teams: the Enforcers and the Lumber Jacks. In the end, it was the 2 and 4 Enforcers pulling away late for the 12-7 victory over the 1 and 4 Lumber Jacks. The Enforcers had 12 runs on 12 hits with two errors, while the Lumber Jacks finished with seven runs on 12 hits, but committed three errors that may have been the difference in the game. Gregg Miller got the win on the hill for the Enforcers, while Jason Roberts got the loss. Top batters for the Enforcers were Marcello Jacobs, 3 for 3 with a home run and three RBIs, and Jesse Atwell, 2 for 3. For the Lumber Jacks, Clayton Pollock was 3 for 3, Rod Davis 2 for 3, and Brandon Nash was 2 for 2.
