Brief: St. Croix Teachers Union Holding Town Hall With Elected Officials

The St. Croix Federation of Teachers will hold a town hall meeting with elected officials Wednesday at Alfredo Andrews Elementary School auditorium from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Several V.I. senators have committed to appear, and several others have tentatively said they plan to attend, according to union officials.

Topics of discussion will include:

  • the appointment of commissioners;
  • possible layoffs or dismissals of government employees in December;
  • the 2012 government budget;
  • ways to increase government revenue; and other current issues.
