Estate Glynn Man Arrested for Unlicensed Firearm

St. Croix police arrested Krishnan Luke, 26, of Estate Glynn, shortly before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday for trying to hide a gun during a traffic stop. He was charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm.

According to police, an officer stopped a silver Jeep driving on the wrong side of Midland Road. Luke, who was in the passenger seat, got out of the vehicle and started to walk away but was ordered back inside the vehicle by the officer.

When Luke was back inside the Jeep, the officer said he saw him bend over as if placing an object on the floor. The officer then ordered him out of the vehicle, searched and found an unlicensed .38 caliber gun underneath the passenger side floor mat.

The Firearms Bureau conducted a background check and determined that Luke does not have a license to carry a firearm in the Virgin Islands, and he was arrested. His bail was set at $25,000 and he was remanded to the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility pending further court action.
