St. Croix Athletes Compete at El Jabarito International Mile

St. Croix Athletes Compete at El Jabarito International Mile
On Nov. 12, the St. Croix Educational Complex, the Hounds and Foxes Track Club and the St. Croix Track Club represented the Virgin Islands at the El Jabarito International Mile. There were athletes from Puerto Rico and Vieques, the Dominican Republic, Argentina, Mexico and Columbia as well as the Virgin Islands.
The Educational Complex athletes were Britney Sage, Ashley Paddie, Dante Francis, Karim Jno-Finn, Deshaun Webbe, Malique Smith and Alile Browne. Awards were given to the top 10 athletes who were in two age categories. The top Educational Complex athlete was Malique Smith with a 9th place finish.
The St. Croix Track Club athletes were Michelle Smith, Mikaela Smith, Valence Modeste, Stefanie Matthew, Krystahl Gordon, and Rodney Griffin. The top finishers in the Mustang group were Valance Modeste in 2nd place and Mikaela Smith in 3rd place, Stefanie Matthew in 7th place and Michelle Smith in 9th place.
The Hounds and Foxes athletes were Walton Jack, Osaze Williams, Nyhne Daniel, Adriel Sanes and Nia Jack. The top finishers in the HF group were Walton Jack in 3rd place, Osaze Williams in 3rd place, Nyhne Daniel in 4th place and Nia Jack in 7th place.
