Attention Kmart Shoppers

St. Thomas police arrested two people this week after they shoplifted alcohol and other items from a local department store.

Tessier Francis, 31, and Linnett Gardener, 55, were both arrested after they were caught shoplifting the merchandise from Kmart.

Gardener was arrested shortly before 7 p.m. Tuesday for stealing five bottles of Courvoisier and a bottle of wine from the store in Lockhart Gardens, and Francis was arrested at approximately 1 p.m. Wednesday after she was caught on tape a few months ago stealing from the store in Estate Tutu.

Bail for both suspects was set at $35,000 each, and they were remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action, according to a V.I. Police Department news release.

Police also arrested Bureau of Corrections inmate Andelson Santiago Nova, 20, who was identified as the main suspect in a robbery that happened earlier this year.

According to the police, Nova snatched a woman’s chain from her neck while she was walking on 10th Street in Sugar Estate.

Nova was originally arrested in May and charged with three counts of first degree robbery and five counts of grand larceny after he allegedly went on a “gold chain snatching spree,” taking jewelry from women in several different locations.

His bail was set at $35,000 and he was returned to prison.
