Three men — Kishawn Lopez, Ramzy Abdallah and Rafat Hassan — were arrested Saturday on illegal weapons charges in two separate incidents, police said in a statement.
At about 6:15 a.m. Saturday morning, officers from B Command were called to investigate a possible auto accident in Estate Lower Love. When they arrived, they saw a black 1991 Nissan pickup truck parked on the road with 23-year-old Kishawn Lopez of Lower Love lying on the seat inside the vehicle.
When Lopez got up, police saw a handgun on the seat. Also in the car were several rounds of ammunition. Lopez was arrested and his bail was set at $25,000 dollars.
At 9:30 p.m., 21-year-old Rafat Hassan of Estate Mary’s Fancy, and 20-year-old Ramzy Abdallah of Estate Rattan were arrested by officers at a traffic checkpoint near Flamboyant Gardens. Officers confiscated a loaded .40 caliber Taurus handgun, and police charged both men with possession of an unlicensed firearm.
Abdallah was also charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute when officers found 112 grams of marijuana in his possession.
Bail for both men was set at $25,000 each. The three suspects were remanded to the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility pending their advice of rights hearings.
