Police Investigate Two Weekend Shootings

St. Thomas detectives are investigating two separate shooting incidents that occurred on Saturday, one near Club 75 and the other in Frenchman’s Bay.

In the first case, police were notified on Saturday of two gunshot victims at Roy L. Schneider Medical Center. Unable to interview the individuals while they were being treated, police investigated the scene and determined that the two men fired shots at each other near Club 75 shortly after 3 a.m. Saturday. Both were shot several times, according to V.I. Police Department news release.

In the second instance, police arrested Gregoire George, 34, for discharging several shots in Frenchman’s Bay. He was arrested a little before 2:30 p.m. Saturday. He was found with two bullets in his pocket.

George’s bail was set at $25,000 and he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action. Police are asking anyone with information on the first incident to call: 714-9844, 714-9805 or Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-TIPS.
