Gerard Ricardo Nicholson, better known as “Gerry,” died on Wednesday, Oct. 19. He was 88 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Aracley Nicholson; sons: Gerard Nicholson Jr. and Carlos Nicholson; daughters: Lita Daniel and Judy Watson; brothers, Morris Nicholson; sisters: Patricia Jones, Carmen Sibilly, Marion Sprauve, Emelda Nicholson, Jean Gibbs and Ursula Isaac; grandchildren: Nichole Wilson, Felicia Nicholson-Lawyer, Michael Watson Jr. and Kiah Nicholson; sons-in-law: Clement Daniel II and Michael Watson; daughters-in-law: Maria Nicholson and Annette Nicholson; sisters-in-law: Anna Nicholson and Maria D. Nicholson; brothers-in-law: Leo Sibilly, Leopold Sprauve, Donald Gibbs and Daniel Isaac; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a first viewing held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, at Davis Funeral Home. Tributs will be given at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, at Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral. Interment will be at Western Cemetery No. 1.
